Saturday morning community day at The Harbor Church starts between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. when our volunteers start to arrive. At 7:30 a.m. all of the volunteers gather in the sanctuary for a devotional time and logistics meeting with one of the pastors. After the devotion, people volunteer and are appointed to various tasks.
A pre-scheduled church group, civic organization, neighborhood or coworkers will bring in a breakfast and help serve it.
The clothing closet is a highly organized pre-sorted area of men’s, women’s, children’s and infants clothing and shoes. On Saturday community day, our harbor families and friend’s clothing needs are met.
The food pantry is stocked with hearty soups, easy pop-top cans such as Vienna sausages, beanie weenies, cereals, crackers and fruit cups to be dispersed in either larger family bags or individual bags.
The hygiene pantry is stocked with items such as deodorant, shampoos, razors, adult and infant diapers and feminine protection items.
Laundry services are offered for our harbor family and friends to have a load of clothes washed and dried by our volunteers.
Street ministry teams are offered on Saturday morning for volunteers to go out on the street preaching the word of Jesus Christ with one of the harbor staff pastors.
Our harbor family and friends are also met, one on one, by the volunteers on Saturday morning with words of encouragement and prayers.
