The Harbor, located at 320 N. Foster St, in downtown Dothan, opens on a need basis as a warming station for the surrounding communities when the temperature forecast is to drop to 28 degrees or lower. The doors will open for check-in between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. There will be no check-ins after 9 p.m. Doors will reopen at 7 a.m. the next day.
There will be cots to sleep on, coats and blankets for all, and snacks, coffee and drinks will also be provided.
The Harbor always needs volunteers for nights the warming station is open. Six positions (at least two women) are needed for the 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift or six positions needed for each split shift time of 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. and 1-7 a.m.
